New Heritage Cooking: Healthy Haystack Cookies
http://newheritagecooking.blogspot.com/2006/07/healthy-haystack-cookies.html
Friday, July 07, 2006. Remember the haystack cookies from the 1970s made with fried chow mein noodles and a bunch of other unhealthy ingredients? Here's an updated take on these classic cookies. The result? A crunchy, sweet cookie - each with 5 grams of fiber! Even if you think you can't cook, I promise that you can make these sweet treats. 1/2 box of Fiber One cereal (each box contains two sleeves of cereal; just use one). 1 10-ounce bag of chocolate, white chocolate, peanut butter or butterscotch chips.

http://girlwithpen.blogspot.com/2008/09/who-by-fire.html
Tuesday, September 30, 2008. I'm off to synagogue today and hence it will likely be quiet over here from me. But before I go, I wanted to share this eerie yet haunting song by Leonard Cohen that I heard on NPR's Speaking of Faith. Days of Awe special the other day and haven't been able to get out of my head. It's a riff on a prayer (Unetaneh Tokef) that is said on Rosh HaShanah as well as on Yom Kippur. Though sad and a little creepy, it sure gets stuck in your head. Posted by Deborah Siegel. Http:/ www&...

An indie folk, antifolk, lo fi, bedroom pop, singer songwriter corner of the world. Sunday, October 07, 2007. Jeffrey Lewis, leading light of the anti-folk contingent, is back with a new album. Covers of punk band Crass, of which Lewis has long been a fan. It's out in a slew of real and unreal formats; your best bet, especially if you live in the US, might be to order from Bleep. It's got an unusually defiant tone for Lewis, backed in chanting by suspiciously Claudia Gonson-like vocals. Pages Thank you S...
