Bunnies with Sharp Teeth: Wishing I'd brought a raincoat today
http://bunnieswithsharpteeth.blogspot.com/2008/04/wishing-id-brought-raincoat-today.html
Bunnies with Sharp Teeth. Photos, plants, hiking, Seattle. Friday, April 18, 2008. Wishing I'd brought a raincoat today. It's hailing for the third time today. Since I was in sunny California during the recent Seattle spring snowpocalypse, I think I'm allowed to say, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Bunnies with Sharp Teeth: January 2008

Bunnies with Sharp Teeth. Photos, plants, hiking, Seattle. Thursday, January 10, 2008. Zoids with sharp teeth. A few days ago zoid. My favorite part about Fred is how his tail swings back and forth as he walks. The sigmoidal motion of the fins on his back is pretty awesome as well. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Goodbye, Cricketsong - jon_leonard

Goodbye, Cricketsong - jon leonard. 10 September 2014 @ 09:31 pm. It's finally time to retire my old laptop, the one that we've been using as a home server for a while. The screen had stopped working, but that didn't matter so much for server use. Last night, however, something else failed and it won't do networking anymore. So I got about 15 years out of it, which makes it a relic of a different era. Admittedly, a different computer now thinks that it's Cricketsong, but I know the difference.).

One win for the dead trees - Tavellas Toys. A Member of the Reality Based Community. 13 March 2015 @ 12:25 am. One win for the dead trees. I cast my eyes upward in annoyance, and they fell upon the anthology section of my bookshelves. The name Isaac Asimov caught my eye; I tilted my head sideways and read the much tinier print underneath it. Why, yes, it did read Science Fiction Masterpieces and that indeed was one of the collections that reprinted it. 4 comments Leave a comment.

A Member of the Reality Based Community. 24 June 2014 @ 10:53 am. For once I used up everything in the CSA box with no wastage, and even the extra stuff I ordered (fresh corn! I do have some tomatoes left, but Im not counting them because a) extras I ordered and b) I put them aside deliberately because they were underripe. Ill probably have some with my lunch today, as they look like they are finally ripe. 7 comments Leave a comment. On June 24th, 2014 06:46 pm (UTC). I'd like to try them! We joined a CS...

On the job market again - Somewhat
http://nonnihil.livejournal.com/16187.html
On the job market again - Somewhat. Nov 7th, 2009. On the job market again. Well, Current Employer has finally gone well and truly crazy, and it's time for me to restart the old job hunt. Basically, they ran out of money without warning anybody, and decided to furlough the entire Cambridge office over the next couple of months, starting next week. Surprise! But wait, there's more! November 7th, 2009 05:33 pm (UTC). This furlough is in effect a layoff with no severance. November 7th, 2009 05:39 pm (UTC).

The Dark and Obscure Art of the Phone Interview - Somewhat

The Dark and Obscure Art of the Phone Interview - Somewhat. Sep 12th, 2008. The Dark and Obscure Art of the Phone Interview. Being in the midst of a job hunt, I am doing a lot of phone interviews. Because I hate phone interviews with the burning fury of a thousand suns, I would very much prefer that the phone interviews that must be conducted yield a maximum amount of useful information in a minimum of time, so that I don't have to do, eg, four or more phone interviews with the same company. Note to Comp...

GOG Galaxy Open Beta Announced - DonAithnen

GOG Galaxy Open Beta Announced - DonAithnen. 05 May 2015 @ 12:39 pm. GOG Galaxy Open Beta Announced. Http:/ www.gog.com/galaxy. This may be the best news i've heard all month! Possibly even all year so far. I've complained repeatedly that although i really appreciate GOG's stance towards DRM in the long run, in the short run i'm too easily seduced by the convenience of the Steam launcher in general and the compulsion of achievements and tracking time in games in particular. 1 comment Leave a comment).

Fairy Tales and Consent - Life at the Intersection of Profound and Mundane. 08 January 2015 @ 08:58 am. Fairy Tales and Consent. There is a book that lives in a waiting room that the kids and I frequent every week. It is a Disney book about a princess, so of course R wants me to read it to her every week - Every. Single. Week. It is a telling of Snow White. Wouldn't he normally be the one expected to issue orders to a huntsman? Especially about something like killing the princess? And, of course, the hun...

My Love/Hate Relationship with Asynchronous Development - Life at the Intersection of Profound and Mundane. 03 September 2014 @ 10:50 am. My Love/Hate Relationship with Asynchronous Development. T, who just turned 10, is currently reading Ender's Game. For the first time and absolutely loving it. It's clearly the right book at the right time for him. And yet, he woke up this morning as if none of that conversation had happened, whining and fussing because Ender's Game. The other morning, J (who will be 7...
