Thursday, December 21, 2006. We have finally got the research lab going! This is me running an experiment back in July 2006! Oswaldo has worked really hard to get the lab in a good condition and has written many grants for funding. He has a good team of people working for him and we are very grateful for that. It is hard to do research here in Ecuador, as it is difficult to get the supplies and the money, but thanks to God, progress is beginning to be made! How did that gel turn out, Beth?

Wednesday, May 31, 2006. Trip to the jungle! This past weekend we went to visit Oswaldo's family in Ambato. Oswaldo's Uncle then took us to stay in his house in the rainforest, in a place called Rio Negro (Black River). Rio Negro is a huge river which feeds into the Amazon River. It was an amazing experience to be there, with so many different plants and an abundance of fruits (and also insects! We went trout fishing and we also saw monkeys and children playing on the swings together! Hope your both well.
