It’s been so long since I’ve even looked at this thing… – b's buzz

It’s been so long since I’ve even looked at this thing…. And Evelyn rightfully pointed out that when posterous died, they took most of the photo links with them. I think all those pics are still on flickr, but I don’t have the energy to go hunt them down and relink just now. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). It’s 10:15 am on Monday morning and I’m still in bed. So even though I’ve been awake for hours, I’m still in bed, listening to classical music playing quietly in the background punctuated by the wheezy snoring of my elderly cat who won’t leave my side. Sometimes, the default settings are safer — but they can hold me back. World events and politics. I knew a few weeks ago this was coming, sort of. I gave a talk at DevOpsDays where I said, And a year ago I was about half-way through my very brief tenur...

Sunday, December 17, 2006. I am a very bad student. I never do my homework and I doze off during class. I would feel more guilty if my classmates were the opposite, but they are the same. we are all bad students. In my defense, the class is boring - Jan is a mechanic, he is from Bern and can speak french, german and swiss-german. Yawn. This. Mygermanclass.com) is much better, and I am addicted. Hier ist meine mutter und sie mag Heavy Metal. awesome. Posted by sarah @ 2:16 PM. Thursday, December 14, 2006.

Sunday, February 11, 2007. A cure for homesickness. Every once in a while I get this craving for american style excess - you know, a giant 7-11 slurpy in cherry coke flavor. or an In-N-Out burger animal style. With bible verses printed on the packaging. Today I found the solution. Top Secret Recipes. I am trying out the cherry slurpy as soon as I get my hands on some kool-aid. Posted by sarah @ 6:40 PM. Thursday, September 28, 2006. Otherwise known as a "spannferkel", which is what I ended up eating on Saturday night with a large biker gang from Stuttgart. A friend of mine came to visit for the weekend and we planned a low key weekend hiking in Davos - mountains, glaciers. And, apparently, vacation destination for the Schwaben. As you can see, my camera finally died, so I'm surviving on my phone and low quality disposable cameras. Posted by sarah @ 3:23 PM. Thursday, September 21, 2006. Girl on the Rocks.

Rosebrier: just a little too hostile: New old recipe: Scalloped Tuna and Potato Casserole
http://rosebrier-rosebrier.blogspot.com/2007/07/new-old-recipe-scalloped-tuna-and.html
Rosebrier: just a little too hostile. Sunday, July 29, 2007. New old recipe: Scalloped Tuna and Potato Casserole. Frankly, the Tuna Loaf sounded gross (and funny enough also required crushed potato chips), and the Stuff Peppers were also out of questions as I had no peppers. Turns out that I had everything for the Tuna and Potato casserole (except parsley but who needs parsley). I didn't even need milk as this version has an option for evaporated milk which I did have. Rosebrier: just a little too hostile. Thursday, June 28, 2007. First month nearly done. One month of work nearly over. So much I didn't get done. So much left to do. Commuting sucks. I nearly died today. I still am not put off enough to move to San Jose though. I have done a lot of social things this month but it is hard to fit in things when I have to go to bed by 10 pm. Friday, June 30, 2006. First days in Zurich. Now in my temporary housing, a women’s pension I was quite happy. My room is small but bright and faces a small street with lots of trees:. At this point I slept for about 20 hours waking up only for this. And then went into work for the first time. Everyone in Berkeley will enjoy this:. Are you noticing the large crane? That’s what they are using to construct the new building next to my building. Now I won’t get homesick. Posted by sarah @ 11:29 PM. Karrie sa...

Monday, October 23, 2006. Big mountains, small country! Posted by sarah @ 3:16 PM. Friday, October 20, 2006. Tuesdays.knitting and voting. Knitting in a bar is strangely seductive, even to the europeans. First they wanted to learn how to knit because "it will be too embarassing to learn. To knit in a bar".so, tuesday night found me teaching knitting basics, resulting in some fine non-absorbant, heat-conducting, not-square knitted objects. Pictures from the evening and the objects can be found here. Much ...

Monday, July 31, 2006. I finally moved into a permanent place and no longer live in a pension with 40 women. I have my own kitchen, bathroom and balcony. I'm exhausted from moving in 38C heat. the day I bought furniture and put it in my house it was the hottest day in 146 years. not as hot as Arizona. Some other apartment pluses are large rooms and a dishwasher:. Sometimes they go on vacation and miss their laundry day and can't do laundry for almost a month. Posted by sarah @ 11:57 AM.
