Are you able to watch TV? Do you have to swear allegiance to President Obama or anyone else? Can you reasonably go where you want to go? Are you able to believe what you want? These are blessings that not everyone enjoys. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Thoughts on politics, mostly. The Power of Goals March 29, 2009. Filed under: Fun Stuff! 8212; bethanyjc @ 1:58 pm. Thought I, I should run to that high school! Then a week ago Saturday was a gorgeously warm day and my husband and I saw people running everywhere, all day long. It made me want to run as well. So Saturday night, I ran (“I just felt like running”). I ran towards the high school. I didn’t make it there, but I did run TWO miles. Just like that! It was even pleasant! Thoughts on politics, mostly. The problem with education October 6, 2009. Filed under: My Dreams. 8212; bethanyjc @ 9:15 am. I had two professors in my undergrad who taught in a style that I especially appreciated: they expected us to read a whole lot for each class, they provided a framework for the discussion, but then expected the students to contribute–and I mean, really. This blog is really nice. Light years better than mine. I see overspending as being an effect of a desire to remain in power by regimes and/or politicians. This appears to be a larger problem among democratic states, but other countries also grapple with it. 8220;Congressperson X is dangerous on defense.”. Europe is going to have to...

Loving Life: May Part 1
http://ryananderinalkema.blogspot.com/2015/07/may-part-1.html
Wednesday, July 8, 2015. We had a lot of fun things in May to blog about. Here are a bunch of little things first. We had a water balloon toss at our ward breakfast. Sadie had her second piano recital. Here she is with her piano teacher, Danette Collins. We sure love her! Mother's day was lovely. besides the fact that Ryan disappeared for the first 3 hours I was awake. I had NO idea where he was and I was miffed! My big gift was reseeding our backyard! Brooklyn ready for dance class. The weather has been...

Loving Life: October 2014

Saturday, October 18, 2014. Happy 10 Year Anniversary! We decided to go to the Mesa Temple this year. It is simply gorgeous. We had a Sister Missionary take a couple pictures for us. Ryan unexpectedly dipped me for a kiss and the Sister kept taking pictures. Haha! We are lucky to live in a place where we have the Mesa and Gilbert Temples within a 45 minute drive. And next month, the Phoenix Arizona Temple will be dedicated and it is only 15 minutes from our house! Tuesday, October 14, 2014. We had an eve...

Loving Life: April 2015
http://ryananderinalkema.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Ryan was out of town for Valentines this year, but we still had fun. It was a balmy 85 outside, so we went to a friend's neighborhood pool. It was a huge pool that we had almost to ourselves. This was a darling valentine that Boston got at preschool. It was just a reminder of my underachieving motherhood skills. Thursday, April 16, 2015. Aunt Natalie came to visit for the day. It was fun to catch up with her. Free, yet productive entertainment. Pillowcase race with our friend Emma.

Sunday, August 31, 2014. He loves sneaking off to the bathroom to unroll the tp and splash in the potty. He thinks it's the best to look upside down between his legs. I'm not a fan of him doing it at the edge of the porch. Playing at the museum. And I Love his spaghetti face! All my attempts to take an 11 month picture. It was not an easy task. He also loves to climb the stairs, then holler from the top to let the whole house know he did it! A video of some of his chatty moments. I'm going to miss summer.

Monday, March 31, 2014. This is our life. I couldn't be more grateful. Tummy Time. This is why it's taking so long for him to roll over. Plus the fact that he is 18 lbs at six months old. Peas Not a fan. What we look like on our way to the park. A cuteness explosion. Dinosaurs sleeping in their nests. Left foot up, tongue out. The first time together. This made my heart very happy. Sometimes the weather is heavenly. And this guy can soak up some vitamin D on those perfect days. And lots of videos:. We wo...

Sunday, July 19, 2015. We went to the lego store and got a free parrot. Boston was so proud of himself. Sadie lost two teeth within 3 days! I put together a week long princess dance camp. It was a TON of work, but now that I have all the music, choreography and crafts prepared, I can do the same camp every year. YAY! Here are just a few pics of it. We made dancers in an snowflake tutu and castles made of toothpicks and marshmallows for our "Frozen" day. Our crowns on another day. I sure love my man!

Loving Life: June 2015
http://ryananderinalkema.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Friday, June 26, 2015. Our family doesn't believe in the Easter Bunny. It is a weird concept that has nothing to do with Easter. That being said, we also try not to deprive our kids of fun activities. Boston's preschool had an egg hunt and a crazy guy happened to be dressed up like a bunny. Here is both afternoon and morning classes combined for a picture. It was a wonderful and spiritually uplifting holiday! Monday, June 22, 2015. And holds their hands up like this. My handsome boy riding into the sunset.

Monday, March 30, 2015. December weather was lovely. We tried to blend in the the local folk and pretended it was cold. Sometimes we even wore sweaters. Brooklyn was ready for potty training well before I was ready. She was so insistent that I couldn't say no. She still has a pullup for sleeping, but otherwise she is totally potty trained! I found this guy in my kitchen. I can't tell you how MAD it made me. DIE REBEL SCUM! Sadie and the Grinch. Next up will be our Christmas/California story. Boston has t...

Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Moments of July and Beginning of August. Backwards Racing Up the Stairs. Lesson on how to get messy and be okay with it. (It's washable paint, no biggie, right? Mason could only handle paint on his hands. He freaked out when it went anywhere else. I took them to the pet store instead of the zoo one day. I was too tired for the zoo. They didn't mind the difference. This was Ds birthday. We went to the zoo with our neighbors. The peacock at the zoo gave us a show. For the family ...

Thursday, March 26, 2009. Realism and Perspective Blogger Assignment. Cubism paintings can challenge our perspective as a way to depict or represent realism because it is an abstract piece of art that because it is different, it stays in our mind to seem real even if it is not real. Avant-garde means something that describes movements in an artistic experimentation, which leads the way to major changes. Some examples in the reading of avant-garde are the Manifesto, modernism and traditional art. Michael ...

October 12, 2011 · 12:22 am. Have a look at this band, Moonalice. Their music is alright. It’s pretty old school, not quite my cup of tea, but they really know what they’re doing! Sounds like a great marketing plan to me! October 6, 2011 · 2:21 pm. My essay is coming along nicely. Slow, but nicely. Thoughts on politics, mostly. October 14, 2009. Filed under: The Economy. 8212; bethanyjc @ 8:21 am. So a very nice person I know lives in subsidized housing and receives welfare help for him, his pregnant wife, and their two children while he is receiving his masters degree. This very nice person just received an iPod Touch for his birthday. How is that okay? Where did the money for the iPod Touch come from if he does not have a job and is receiving help for his basic living needs? October 11, 2009.

outside the box
Who can pack life into a box. it's messy, defying our best attempts to make it otherwise. embrace the mess, enjoy the journey, your box overfloweth. Sunday, April 11, 2010. We sat on the rock with the soft cushion of moss and looked out over the city way down in the valley below. The sun filtered through the trees and lit up all the new green growth. A heavy haze draped the distant peaks, drawing us further into a dream state. There is no self-consciousness here, no strict code of conduct, just a simple ...
