A journey to South Africa. I am a spoiled american. September 29, 2010. So, im going to be real. My time here in South Africa. But there are some struggles. anytime you travel or leave the comfort of your normal, familiar life, there’s going to be things you miss. this being my 3rd week gone, im starting to miss some things…. First and foremost, my family. And i’m not just saying that because they’re reading this. This sounds silly, but i would do a whole lot for a big bowl of cereal with cold milk.

A journey to South Africa. Final leg of trip! December 6, 2010. So, here’s my past 3 weeks…. The last 2 days at my service site went very well. we had a farewell dinner our last night in Pietermaritzburg. the 2 women from the refuge came. we gave them little gifts, took lots of pictures, and said our goodbyes (im not very good at goodbyes, but i know this was not goodbye forever, so it wasn’t too bad). Went cave exploring, and just relaxed. We reached our final destination on november 25th; Cape Town!

A journey to South Africa. From the depths of my jumbled mind. October 17, 2010. Happy Sunday morning from south africa! It is a cloudy, sleepy day here and im still in my pj’s, still in bed. i have a 10 page paper staring me in the face, due in 2 days. page one, complete. but i have realized that i must unload my thoughts before i can go any further…. Yesterday, went to the market in Durban again, then went to my first ever rugby game! I must say, I have a brand new immense respect for rugby players.
