Saturday, May 12, 2012. A couple of weeks ago, all of the temples from Kinmen and Small Kinmen came together to celebrate the birthday of one of their gods with a huge parade. Tourists came from all over Eastern Asia to see the culture and worship. When I saw my students, the children I love so much, marching along, bowing to the idols, I wanted to scream, "DON'T LISTEN TO THEM! IT'S ALL A LIE! THESE GODS DON'T LOVE YOU! LIVE LOVE. LAUGH. The day we scheduled their portrait session ended up being pretty cold, but these guys were troopers. We had a lot of laughs as we walked around this gorgeous park, then we jumped into the car and drove to the nearest Starbucks where we caught up on life.
