ERA ladysdayout blog: Great Advice from a "River Maiden"
http://eraladysdayout.blogspot.com/2010/09/great-advice-from-river-maiden.html
Monday, September 20, 2010. Great Advice from a "River Maiden". I always struggle with the generalization that women struggle with fear/men don't when it comes to whitewater kayaking. I know some guys who have to deal with some pretty heady head games when it comes to kayaking. I am not so sure that there is a way to categorize fear into one gender or another. But on the other hand.do I frequently say that women "think too much" about just about anything- including kayaking. Oh yes! Beth Rypins River Wise.

Sunday, September 13, 2009. Going for the Gold in C-1. I sat one afternoon at the takeout on the Nantahala watching a C-1 boater attain upstream. It broke two of my rules: #1 Going Upstream and #2 Paddling on your knees with just half a paddle! But hey-women are smarter and don't paddle C-1s. But as the C-1 boater headed downstream I realized it was in fact a girl! A C-1 boater and with big ambitions. Where did this come from Jennifer? What inspired you to get into a C-1? Last summer, in 2008. I've k...

Monday, October 19, 2009. The Ability to Let Go. Mariann Saether is a kick ass paddler. And when we ran into an article she wrote about being able to be the boater you want to be, we just had to share it with everyone. The Ability to Let Go - Mariann Saether. We all swim, we all get trashed from time to time, and it is OK! It doesn't mean you are a bad kayaker, it means you are trying to get better. Posted by eraladysdayout team. Links to this post.
