124; Comments RSS. Posted on August 27, 2012. So I finally finished it, I sewed on the heart button, crocheted a chain for the closure and stood back to admire. Did it need something on the top? Or should I just let the beauty of the wool show through. I have lots of crocheted flowers and spent an age sitting them on top trying them out. The inside is lined in cotton and the whole box is stabilised by plastic canvas. 124; 4 Comments. Posted on August 22, 2012. 124; 1 Comment. Posted on August 7, 2012.

Stitching with Kittens: A Week of Leaves and Stems

http://stitchingwithkittens.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-week-of-leaves-and-stems.html

Stitching, books, cats, and other favorite things. Saturday, May 30, 2015. A Week of Leaves and Stems. I'm trying hard to climb out of my stitching rut! Step one was finding something ready to go. . . all in one place . . . and near the top of the WIP pile. I'm really happy with my choice - a Jane Nicholas piece that was taught at our EGA chapter as part of the fall 2013 International Teachers Tour. Day 3 - It took 3 days of work, but the leaves and stems are now complete! Day 4 - Moving forward, it's ti...

Stitching with Kittens: April 2013

http://stitchingwithkittens.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Stitching, books, cats, and other favorite things. Tuesday, April 30, 2013. As I bet you've all guessed, I've been in a MAJOR stitching rut this year. Why? The usual. . . .I'm either avoiding some stitching I SHOULD be doing (and end up doing nothing) or (major reason) I get to a point where I need to either make a decision or tackle something I'm not terribly good at. . . and again. . . . react by going into paralysis mode. This project was inspired by Pat Trott's. Three Dimensional Embroidery Stitches.

stitches and Life: It's Been a While

http://stitchesandlife.blogspot.com/2015/05/its-been-while.html

A blog about my life, stitching and artistic journey. It's Been a While. It has been a while since I have been able to post photos. My son and his wife have now settled into a house in Surrey in the UK, and are thoroughly enjoying it. This is the back yard of the house they are living in since moving to the UK. It is in Surrey and the pups are having a lot of fun in the lovely garden, and intrigued by all the new types of wildlife. This is the front of the house. Anyway I insisted on something else being...

Stitching, books, cats, and other favorite things. Wednesday, February 29, 2012. Two Whole Days to Spare! But I'm happy to report that I've managed to rise to the occasion. . . and now have, framed and ready to wrap, a finished piece. . . a whole TWO days before the date of my friend's in-town celebration party for the newley weds. And here it is. . . . . It's a little easier to see the stitching in this photo, taken before mounting and framing:. Couldn't have done it without you. View my complete profile.

Stitching with Kittens: June 2015

http://stitchingwithkittens.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Stitching, books, cats, and other favorite things. Friday, June 12, 2015. I wanted to post some photos of a super fun little project I completed earlier this year. Each January our EGA chapter hosts a workshop that does something requiring a needle and thread. . . but usually a little outside of traditional embroidery. This year our guest teacher was beading instructor Cathy Helmers, who taught a 3-dimensional beading class. You can see some of Cathy's work here. Back view (love the wild and crazy hair!

Stitching with Kittens: A rut? A ditch? Maybe a chasm. . . ?

http://stitchingwithkittens.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-rut-ditch-maybe-chasm.html

Stitching, books, cats, and other favorite things. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. Maybe a chasm. . ? OK, OK. . . I have not posted in so very long. A friend has opined that my "rut" has long since become a ditch. . . but perhaps it's worse than that. A trench? Well, I'm making an effort here. Let's see if it takes this time. One reason I have not posted is that I have not stitched much. Don't know why. It's called a hexagon sweater, and you can find the free directions on-line here:. May 21, 2015 at 7:01 AM.

News - a blog about what happens outside the stadium lights. Saturday, November 12, 2011. Week 10: A serious note and then back to the fun stuff. Familiar face missing at Beaver Stadium. I don't really feel like writing about NFL stars and their ditzy, reality TV wives today. I know everyone is sick of hearing about Coach Paterno, but I really want to ensure everyone knows the whole story. My inner desire for truth and justice has been struggling these past few days. Beth's Blue Plate Special | a taste of what's cooking in my kitchen

Beth's Blue Plate Special. A taste of what's cooking in my kitchen. Andy loves baked beans. I’m talking a level of love that most people reserve for chocolate. Or coffee on Monday mornings. In fact, he once bought a 10-pound can of baked beans for himself because “they were the best deal per ounce” and “who wouldn’t want that many beans! So, when Andy saw Bridget and Julia. Making these beans, he was interested right away. I wasn’t opposed to the dish. I mean, there’s brats and bacon in it). 2 15 ounce c...

Monday, July 22, 2013. Best Strawberry Ice Cream Evah. I used this recipe. It has a very deep, rich berry flavor, and I'll bet this method would work great with a number of other fruits. The recipe calls for three-quarters of a cup of sugar, but I used half a cup and it's plenty sweet. I also left out the rosewater, 'cause where the heck do you find rosewater? Tuesday, June 4, 2013. West Elm has several works that caught my eye, and a couple of them would look great in my office:. Monday, April 22, 2013.
