Beth's Bookshelf: March 2011

http://bethsbookshelf.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Thursday, March 31, 2011. One is a snail, Ten is a Crab. Author April Pulley Sayre has written a book that takes the classic "counting by feet" problem to a whole new level. Beautiful illustrations of beach scenes depict various sea creatures. In the beginning the reader is simply counting by the number of legs in each scene. After the initial introductions, we see different combinations of legs that help us count up to 100. Article, Legs, Legs, Legs. Tuesday, March 29, 2011. A Very Improbable Story.

Beth's Bookshelf: Eat Your Math Homework

http://bethsbookshelf.blogspot.com/2011/09/eat-your-math-homework.html

Saturday, September 10, 2011. Eat Your Math Homework. My favorite new book for the math classroom is Eat Your Math Homework Recipes for Hungry Minds. By Ann McCallum. Students won't report to class claiming their dog ate their homework with activities such as the ones McCallum has cooked up. These tasty recipes can be followed at home or at school for a tasty snack of milk and math. Invite parents to join the class and assist small groups of children as they cook up some math. November is over, which means Christmas has officially started- I guess? Somehow I’m still not feeling all that Christmas-y. This month is a solid mix of new songs my friends have introduced me to and old-school throwbacks, from Sundara Karma and Dodie to ABBA and Simple Minds. Hope you enjoy! November 13, 2016. Beth's Bountiful Blessings

Thursday, November 8, 2012. We start them early. He can do this all by himself and he likes to color. Monkey see, Monkey do! Monday, November 5, 2012. And the son of man, that thou visitest him? I am thankful for a little boy who enjoys going outside.
