Just another WordPress.com weblog. Sights around the Sea of Galilee – Thursday 12/3/09. What a busy day, and it’s only the first of many. Mac and Cindy Griffin at the Jordan River. Betty and Beth at Jordan River. Mom (Betty Rush) at Beth Sha'en city ruins. Next we went to a Kibbutz on the east side of the Sea of Galilee for a boat ride. The boats look, supposedly, like the wooden boats of Jesus’ time, but I saw some stronger steel underpinnings there too. Mom and me on the boat on the Sea of Galilee.

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Made it to Atlanta with the first batch of Israel travelers. Mom’s flight is in the air and arriving soon. Our flight attendant, named Sima, is from Israel! She was so excited to meet a bunch of folks traveling to “her country” that she was afraid she forgot to serve some of us drinks and snacks. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Jericho, Qumran, Dead Sea – Sunday 12/6/09. Today we first headed for Jericho. We drove east from Jerusalem, and quickly we are in the desert. Rocks and mostly barren looking. We are going down, too: Jerusalem is at about 2500 feet, and the Dead sea is 1290 feet below sea level. I think my ears popped. We’ve had dinner and are now waiting for our flight at 10:45 pm to Tel Aviv. There are lots of Methodists here in the International Concourse E! Mom and I keep running into people we know. Friday, June 5, 2009. A Veggie Garden Update. The second bed has peppers, squash and recently started cantaloupe, okra and watermelon sprouts.
