Beyond the Curtain: Cold Snap

http://www.beyondthecurtains.blogspot.com/2012/01/cold-snap.html

It's been unseasonably warm lately, but on Tuesday Winter's true nature finally showed up. Everyone's feeling the chill. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Welcome. I'm Valerie. Be•yond•the•cur•tain (bē-änd thə ‘kər-tən). 1: a peek beyond the often quiet façade of a young woman as she celebrates the beauty of the world around her with textile crafts, prepares for a career as an archivist, and considers carefully the cost of consumerism and her use of the world’s resources. Beyond the Curtain: Learning the Fundamentals

http://www.beyondthecurtains.blogspot.com/2011/08/learning-fundamentals.html

A few days ago I came across this Huffington Post article entitled "Why are Young, Educated Americans Going Back to the Farm? My great-grandmother witnessed the beginning of the transition from farm to city, so it's interesting to witness some reversal only a few generations later. I especially resonated with Kelly Coffman's quote:. Returning to the basics is a quest I began several years ago- in fact, it's one of the main reasons. I haven't bought shampoo or conditioner in years, opting instead to use a...

Beyond the Curtain: every time I see my backpack...

http://www.beyondthecurtains.blogspot.com/2008/04/everytime-i-walk-by-my-hiking-backpack.html

Every time I see my backpack. Everytime I walk by my hiking backpack, I get really excited and cannot wait to pack it for England. It has 2800 cubic inches of space plus three external pockets for those little items that get so easily lost in the bottom of the main compartment. Its straps are comfortable, and it has waist and sternum straps to help carry the load. What a piece of excitement! I think of where it will go and what sort of floors it will be tossed upon in just. Welcome. I'm Valerie. Back to ...

A Manor of Mischief: September 2012

http://amanorofmischief.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html

Such an unfortunate connotation with the word. Really powerful toxic eat-through-your-skin-and-clothes stripper from a previous disastrous project when we tried to strip a powder-coated baker's rack.needless to say, that did. Work and the unfortunate baker's rack is no longer with us. After the frames were stripped and scraped and sanded I. Totally let them sit around forever because I was too lazy to paint them. Left them to thoroughly dry so they would be ready for paint. I applied 2 coats of this.

What She Made: ABOUT

http://whatshemade.blogspot.com/p/ab.html

Y name is Valerie. I'm twenty-something years old and live in Virginia. I like sewing original and vintage designs, rummaging through thrift stores, decorating my little space, listening to audio books, and living as frugally and sustainably as I can. I'm finishing up my master's in library science and hope to be a special collections librarian someday. Meanwhile, I enjoy working in reference at my public library. Life, Family, Fashion, Beauty, And Of Course… Curls. So, I know I have been. Ok, a lot MIA (sorry about that) the story is, being a mama of three is keeping me a tad bit busy at the moment and I just don’t have the time to blog as much as I would like at the moment, but hopefully in the not so far future I will have more time to devote to this. I still plan on posting as much as I can! Now, on to the important stuff…. I am SO excited to finally share that my Photography business is officially launched!
