Tehran is quite a quiet place on Fridays, and seems to be particularly so during a times of mourning. Tehran is covered in Khomeini's face to mark his death 15 years ago. I had hoped to go down to his shrine to see if the tales of total chaos during the event are true, but missed it by one day. For some reason they mark the event one day early. I was sick the entire time (still am with a crazy sinus infection), took maybe 4 showers due to circumstances, and hadn't slept more than 5 hours a night. I was beat tired man. Yunnan is in the south of China and has the most ethnic minorities of any province in China. It's one of the most travalled place in China, especially Dali, which is full of burnout backpackers.
