I was asked to make an alternate flyer for this year RE form exhibition. The result was these inverted chairs. The idea behind RE form are to find new ways to see and exhibit furniture. The exhibition is on until June 2014. More info/ www.re-form.dk.

Father and Son consists of two parts: a father chair and a son chair, both made of oak and laser cut to look like wicker. They are connected by a cross pin, representative of an umbilical cord, and centres around the idea of trust. The father gets up before his son, and the chair tilts, begging the question: would you dare sit on it? Product Size/ chair 45 x 80 x 85 cm.

Behind this very simple piece of furniture art craft lies a long and complex process. The chair has drastically changed its characteristics several times along the way. Is a conceptual kitchen bench/ wall bench (slagbænk) living in the borderland between art and design. It is a piece of furniture art craft that is conceptual as well as highly functional. Is a simple concept – five planks set in the spread between two chairs. A wider plank is placed on top of the chairs, providing both seating and storage lid.
