The raw material is sheep wool from New Zealand which is carded and dyed with metal free colors free from allergens. The wool ranges from soft merino wool to wool above 24 microns. In our workshop we produce the following handmade items:. Shoes for old and young. Tablet and E-reader cases. Christmas and Easter ornaments.

Welcome to Bhumi Handicraft. With specific techniques coming from Asia, the production of felt in Nepal follows a long tradition. Only a few areas are as well developed as this form of handicraft. The volume of felt production increases annually due to the popularity of natural fibers for clothes and accessories in the USA and Germany. There is a lot of potential to create new employment in a country burdened with extreme poverty.

We started Bhumi Handicraft in May 2012 with the aim to create work for women who face huge difficulties in life.

Thus, we have set up the most important social and environmental standards for Bhumi Handicraft:. We produce with mostly women and pay fair wages. The production of felt requires huge amounts of water, which is why we have installed a water harvesting system and strive to produce environmentally friendly. All waste is being recycled.
