Bhutan Diary

Tuesday, 8 May 2007. The hotel is less than 20 minutes from the airport and we checked in, finding our room with the help of very pleasant porters. The first room wasn’t any good (why? We had torches with us, which was lucky. This is the Aranyak restaurant! Here we could have a relatively peaceful meal with a beer, although there were people smoking. You can’t have everything! Then we tried to sleep, which we were a little short of! Blue Poppy Tours and Treks. Monday, 7 May 2007. Sunday, 6 May 2007.

Friday, 4 May 2007. After our visit we had to start our long journey back to Thimpu. The Russians are drinking many toasts as is their tradition, so it will shortly be time to leave. Another full and interesting day - now there are only three left. Blue Poppy Tours and Treks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Black-necked Cranes in Bhutan. View my complete profile. Bhutan Diary: Day Nine

http://bhutandiary.blogspot.com/2007/06/day-nine.html

Thursday, 3 May 2007. Today was a driving day. First stop was Trongsa to see the dzong, stopping for tea at Norling Hotel – good tea and loos! The Dzong is not very accessible, only three courtyards and no interiors. It does have lovely gardens and we showed Kinley the snapdragons! The lights eventually died away at 9.30 and we snuggled down to sleep! Blue Poppy Tours and Treks. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Black-necked Cranes in Bhutan. View my complete profile. Tanzania Travels: October 2008

http://magpiesintanzania.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

This is a personal journal describing our holiday in Tanzania. We began with a climb up Mt Makarot; went on to safaris in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro before climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. To start with we couldn’t, but then something flew into a big tree not far away. I shout- whispered ‘Peacocks! Saturday, 18 October 2008. Hashi...

Black-necked Cranes in Bhutan: June 2007

http://blackneckedcranes.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Black-necked Cranes in Bhutan. Tuesday, 12 June 2007. In Bhutan, the Black-necked Crane is also known as Thrung Thrung Karmo and is deeply revered as a heavenly bird (lhab-bja), which has harmoniously coexisted with the residents largely due to strong Buddhist beliefs. The lhab-bja appears in many Bhutaneses folk lore, songs dances and historical references. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

This is a personal journal describing our holiday in Tanzania. We began with a climb up Mt Makarot; went on to safaris in the Serengeti and Ngorongoro before climbing Mt Kilimanjaro. Friday, 10 October 2008. Today we began with breakfast, along with a spoonbill that hopped up and down the garden hedge!
