Khamsum Yuelley Namgyai Chhorten. Three storey chhorten built in 1999 by Queen Mother Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck. Situated on a small hill which you can climb up in 50 min one has a wonderful view over the Punakha valley.

Dates back to the 13th century. Houses the king's throne room. The temple area is the summer residence of the monastic body. The second of Bhutan's dzongs built in 1637 served for many years as the seat of the government. It is the winter residence of the monastic order's leader.

From the Sheytang La (Sheytang Pass) there is an easy and broad walking trek with very scenic view of the whole valley down to Ura. You will pass nice flower grounds, pine trees and a couple of old mani walls. Ura is a little village with a lot of apple trees and stacks of wood for growing mushrooms. There are not may opportunities to eat and it might be better to bring your own pic-nic. Pho Jizha Valley (2900 m).
