In 2001, missionaries from the States came to Johannesburg. Their goal was to assist local churches in their outreach. However, as time went by, he saw the great need for sound local churches in Johannesburg. On May 25th 2003, with the help of another missionary and a national who would later become the senior pastor, they held the first service of New Covenant Baptist Church. Meeting in a community centre, the Lord chose to add many people in a short amount of time. You are not logged in.

Statement of faith

We believe in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Word of God. God moved holy men in Biblical times to write exactly what He wanted them to. This does not mean He did so through mechanical dictation. Rather, through the use of their individual personalities, they wrote with distinct styles the exact words God wanted (2 Pet 1:21, Gal 3:16). We see evangelism and missions occurring on four levels as defined by Christ in Acts 1:8:. Sunday School and Adult Bible Class – 9:00am. Both adults and children study the Scriptures in groups, following systematic discipleship materials. Sunday Morning Service – 10:00am. Our first and main service has an emphasis on the exposition of the Word, appropriate hymnody, prayer and Scripture reading. Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting and Bible Study – 7:00pm. Sunday Lord’s Supper Service – 5:00pm (once a month). Once a month, we meet on a Sunday evening to celebrate the Lord’s Table together.

Discipleship ministries

As a church, we emphasise the oneness in Christ and discourage too much emphasis on specialised ministries. This is because we believe an overemphasis on age-group and specialised ministries has segmented the church rather that united it.
