Skiing in the Big Bay Area

There is excellant cross country skiing through the woods all around Big Bay. For those who want groomed trails, the trails at Sauk Head Lake are kept in perfect condition. Since this is an Olympic Training Facility for our USA teams, the trails are mostly difficult to advanced, but the views are incredible. For those who want down hill skiing and snow boarding, there is Marquette Mountain. See. Big Bay Visitors Association.

Little Garlic Falls are approximately 14 miles south of Cram's General Store in Big Bay.Take County Road 550 south. Just before (approximately .2 of a mile) the Little Garlic bridge, is a parking area on the right. Park here, there is a sign for the Donnelly Catch and Release Preserve. The walking trail follows the northeast shore of the river about 1/2 mile to the falls. Big Bay Visitors Association.
