I have a question, Has any one ever used the foam thats simular to the stuff you would find in couch cushion in a bio filter? A friend of mine said it would be toxic but she said thats if you burn it. The foam is very porous and I figured it would be a great place for benificial bacteria to live. Also another question Has anyone every used septic tank bacteria and enzymes in a pond? Someone told me it would work and it would eat the debris off the bottom of the pond the leaves I cant get to.

Dilemma - Ponds and Water Gardens. It's looking more and more likely I'm going to need to move away from my home and pond. I'm not comfortable leaving the fish behind, but I'm also pretty certain I can not bring them with me. Keeping them in aquariums over the winter was supposed to be a temporary measure while they grew and until I could get the pond fixed/upgraded. Which may never happen at this point. At that point, I may also be posting- "Hey, anyone looking to move to the Indianapolis Area?

Sat, Jun. 24th, 2006, 08:43 pm. Hey I'm new to this community and I have a 30 gal. tank with 3 yellow labs with a sand substrate and about 3 1/2 gals. of rock. Anyway I was wondering if anyone here knew of any blue cichlids that would be a suitable size for a 30 gal. tank.(must be compatible with yellow labs and must also be from lake malawi).
