Part III: Wherein we follow our Intrepid Entrepreneurs as they stumble and bumble towards the goal of opening a bakery in OKC while talking about baking and food. Friday, March 26, 2004. I've been keeping an eye on the news, rumours of sugar taxes and fat taxes, of people suing companies because they have no personal self-control. How will we deal with the possibility of people suing us because they became fat while eating too many sweets? Do you think humor would deflect it some? Are we going to drag pe...

Part III: Wherein we follow our Intrepid Entrepreneurs as they stumble and bumble towards the goal of opening a bakery in OKC while talking about baking and food. Wednesday, June 30, 2004. I've left most of the work up to Manager while I take care of a sick ferret. Normally, I can handle all the healthcare of the critters residing with us, from the turtle to the dogs. This little guy's problem stumped me, though. It stumped the vet, too. Now, we just have to convince him to eat the prescription diet.

Part III: Wherein we follow our Intrepid Entrepreneurs as they stumble and bumble towards the goal of opening a bakery in OKC while talking about baking and food. Friday, April 28, 2006. I've been keeping an eye on prices, inflation, and government regulations. Four years ago, when we started thinking seriously about opening the Cracked Cauldron. It's amazing what a difference even a year has made. The government (local) has passed a few regulations that have increased the cost of opening considerably.

Part III: Wherein we follow our Intrepid Entrepreneurs as they stumble and bumble towards the goal of opening a bakery in OKC while talking about baking and food. Friday, April 28, 2006. Talking with Manager about the make-and-take kitchens that are gaining popularity, we discussed the possibility of doing a make-and-take bakery. The idea won't fly here in Oklahoma, but we could see how, in areas where the make-and-take places are popular, it would work. Don't worry, soup recipes are coming. And a portio...

With spring here (ignore the snow on the ground - it'll be gone by morning), fruit will start ripening - strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries, loganberries, cloudberries, plums, grapes, peaches, pears, apples - fruit season is upon us. So, we at the Cracked Cauldron. When the Cracked Cauldron. And a portio...

Part III: Wherein we follow our Intrepid Entrepreneurs as they stumble and bumble towards the goal of opening a bakery in OKC while talking about baking and food. Thursday, February 26, 2004. We'll be travelling to Texas this weekend to visit 5 bakeries and speak with the owners and bakers at them. And collect pricing ideas and menus. Manager wants to let cauldrons be the theme of our bakery - big ones, filled with rolls, little ones filled with flowers, and others setting about for ambiance. Adding ...

Part III: Wherein we follow our Intrepid Entrepreneurs as they stumble and bumble towards the goal of opening a bakery in OKC while talking about baking and food. Thursday, April 29, 2004. Did you know that taste testing coffees is an art as well as a science? Manager and I have been sampling coffees from a variety of roasters to see which one we want as the "House" coffee. We'll also be selecting the other types of coffees, and are debating flavored coffees. Posted by Moneybags : 2:30 PM. I know it's a ...
