Cats on the Mat: April 2010
http://catsonthemat.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Cats on the Mat. And fur in the oatmeal. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Moving Right Along . I forget the blogs are here half the time. Facebook is so much quicker and more efficient - but also, alas, more shallow. Still, it's nice to keep everyone I've ever known (who has internet access, and a couple of people don't) right there, organized tidily, in a place where we can remain aware of one another. There's something metaphysically *right* about that. We're All One. :o). Reading, currently working my way t...

The Ancient of Weeks: Aug 9, 2010
http://theancientofweeks.blogspot.com/2010_08_09_archive.html
The Ancient of Weeks. Monday, August 9, 2010. Mine eyes have seen the glory. Of the coming of the corn! I will gather up the harvest. Even though I'm old and worn. They'll be pumpkin pie for breakfast. And beans at dinnertime. My crops are growing strong! Glory, glory, Ange Ercoli! Glory, glory, Ange Ercoli! Glory, glory, Ange Ercoli! My crops are growing strong! This stalk of corn has SIX ears growing on it so far. That's almost unheard of. I've got alien ships, hovering overhead,. Well, hey there!

The Ancient of Weeks: GARDEN UPDATE
http://theancientofweeks.blogspot.com/2010/07/garden-update.html
The Ancient of Weeks. Monday, July 12, 2010. And then, there are the Squishes of Love, Crookneck and Zucchini, flowering and setting veggie fruit as if they had a contract with Safeway. The secret is in the songs I sing to them. "When you wish upon a squish.". Moreover, in another raised bed, we have the Pumpkins and Potatoes of Love, lush and luxurious. And then thar be beans, me boys, Bush Beans of Love. Two rows of can-alopes. Yes, we can; yes, we can. A close-up of a Crookneck. Well, hey there! Aneli...

Cats on the Mat: Too Much Water Flowing By
http://catsonthemat.blogspot.com/2010/07/too-much-water-flowing-by.html
Cats on the Mat. And fur in the oatmeal. Tuesday, July 13, 2010. Too Much Water Flowing By. Geez, I haven't blogged since April! A friend in Denver emailed me a couple of weeks ago and asked what was up with that because she doesn't do Facebook. Hi, Cheryl! I meant to get right to it after that but - - here we are. And that's how I happened to be on FB at 3 AM local time with Ethan, discussing removing the 1980s. And the *given* answer to "what was the Beach Boys' best album? I thought it would be cool t...

Cats on the Mat: June 2009
http://catsonthemat.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Cats on the Mat. And fur in the oatmeal. Sunday, June 28, 2009. I'm cooking again. I knew I was *really* cooking again one evening last week when I couldn't find one of the ingredients for something I was making and found myself pulling open cupboards and moving things around in the refrigerator, with the rusty wheels of that withered Food Prep portion of my brain cranking slowly back into motion and then beginning to whir: "What can I substitute? How can I alter this? And still have it edible? That was ...

Cats on the Mat: July 2010
http://catsonthemat.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Cats on the Mat. And fur in the oatmeal. Friday, July 23, 2010. So we got up way too early this morning and went to my first Physical Therapy appointment and it was NOT an Unspeakable Horror, as I had heard it would be. Basically, the rules are:. 1 If it hurts, don't do it. 2 It the swelling gets bad, ice it. She said I should plan on icing it now and then for several weeks or even months yet. As Abby would say. :o) But no driving on Vicodin or Percocet. Well, no, of course not! Friday, July 16, 2010.

And more of life's beauties. Sunday, August 11, 2013. Anelia Carter Van Ausdal. I have received a few comments about Anelia. She and her family were amazing. I wanted to let everyone know that the book, "Carter Pioneers of Provo, Utah" compiled by Arthur D. Coleman, is available in a reprint version. I found it at the following link. The following is copied from the website where you can order the book:. TABLE OF CONTENTS Page. What They Say iv. Two Carter Family Queries vi. Table of Contents vii. Part I...

Cats on the Mat: October 2009
http://catsonthemat.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
Cats on the Mat. And fur in the oatmeal. Thursday, October 22, 2009. Okay, I'll Play, Jenna. Five North American Cities in Which I'd Seriously Consider Living:. 1 Denver, Colorado (like, kinda soon). 2 Boulder, Colorado. 3 Seattle, Washington. 4 Philadelphia (suburbs, including South Jersey). 5 Phoenix, but only in the event of Severe Global Cooling. Five Songs to Which I Know all the Words:. So now I'm trying to think of impressive lyric-dense songs. "American Pie"? Maybe "Subterranean Homesick Blues"?

Cats on the Mat: May 2009
http://catsonthemat.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Cats on the Mat. And fur in the oatmeal. Saturday, May 23, 2009. Teeth on the Way. Yup, there are going to be Chewing Surfaces in my mouth by the end of the summer. No more trying to grind with incisors (and looking like a squirrel in the process), no more accidentally biting off chunks from the inside of my mouth. No more fearing carrots. After all these years I'll probably have to learn to eat all over again, but that's okay, I'm up to the challenge. Which one hurts more? So I chewed funny, so what?
