This is a pair of The Gokey Botte Sauvage Snake Proof Boots made in 1961! The welt had been damaged, the soles were worn out, and one of the top buckle straps was torn. The leather is in great shape after 43 years and they are well worth repairing. This is the same pair of boots after Lyle hand-welted them, as in our Highland Handmade boots, to preserve the integrity of the full lining. The authentic moccasin construction featured in MacRostie footwear is a natural cradle for the foot. It spreads support around the ball, arch, and heel in a flexible, protective, hand-lasted form. Natural, breathing leather is all the foot touches. Care of your footwear. Saddle soap should be used for general cleaning, as well as for removing salt stains. Mink oil or neatsfoot oil should be used, perhaps once a month, to feed the oil that is already in the leather. Be sure to send them to us for repair.
