Just another WordPress.com site. Archive for May, 2011. It’s the librarian! But this time it was an engineering company, where I processed invoices and ordered site equipment. I loved working there, and enjoyed chatting to various people on the phone, but by this point I was determined to figure out what I wanted to do. I considered teaching, publishing, PR, and various other fields, but librarianship still hadn’t occurred to me by this point. It’s the librarian!

Just starting out…. Posted on April 22, 2012. The very final challenge of my MA in Librarianship was the dissertation. I chose to investigate students’ opinions towards and use of the ebooks which are currently provided by the University of Sheffield Library Service. Volunteering in libraries has become a contentious issue in the profession, especially since many areas in England try to replace professionally staffed public libraries with co-called community libraries staffed by volunteers.
