It’s no wonder my garage is full when I look at the list below of what I have bought during 2016 , the only good thing is that 65% have also been sold during 2016 along with a few others I purchased in 2015 . So with less than 15 days to go before the end of 2016 I doubt there will be any or many more arrivals but you never know. January = Peugeot savoie, Genesis flyer and Peugeot Professional. Febuary = Wester Ross and Raleigh royal.

Once I spoke to the elderly gentleman who was selling it we agreed a time for me to come over and view the bike . In my mind late 80’s and early 90’s MTBs make ideal commuting bikes for loads of various reasons . A lot of them were available with good quality tubesets ie various grades of Tange and Reynolds spring to mind straight away never mind early 4130 cro mo that came along a bit later . Mostly cycling on old steel bikes. Today I ticked over 1,500 miles for the year, meaning I’ve overdelivered on my target to the tune of 50%. What’s curious is the symmetry of it: five months for the first 500, two months for the next 500, and five months again for the last 500. No, I haven’t bought another bike, though when my fiancée was asking about what sort of Christmas tree we were going to get in out first house next year I said “you’re allowed 1 foot of tree for every bike I’m allowed to own”, which based on her aspirations would limit me to seven….
