Notes From Alaska: March 2012
http://whitefamily-alaska.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Day to day news from the White Family. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Sara has had absolutely no formal training with singing. She sings in the bathroom, sings to the guinea pig and just sings to sing. The only thing we did for her was arranged with her school music teacher, Ms. Spackman to practice pitch and tone with Sara about 1 day a week for 10 minutes, one month before the show. That was it. We are so proud of you:). Sara in her Enchanted Group Number". Performing the National Anthem". My next goal is to...

That is a lot for one sentence, but that is basically what happened. Despite my neglect to my blog, I am attempting once again to get out some photos of our holiday come and gone and to show my little audience what fun times we had. Personalize a photo slideshow. An Alaskan ex-pat living the not-so-simple life in rural Alabama. Sunday, July 31, 2011. You either get it or you don't. Chickenfight Girl's son just graduated college. He cleaned out his apartment in Auburn and dumped all his stuff at his parents' place. She gave me a couple lamps. She pulled a small coffee grinder out of a box. "What's this? Me: A coffee grinder. For grinding whole coffee beans. Chickenfight Girl: Huh. I've. Never seen one. I never buy whole coffee beans. Chickenfight Girl: What is it?

Rancho Spenardo: November 2010
http://ranchospenardo.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
An Alaskan ex-pat living the not-so-simple life in rural Alabama. Monday, November 8, 2010. The story thus far. Okay, so Grandma Guthrie went into a nursing home. She's very unhappy about it and I can't say I blame her but neither of us got a vote in the matter. Fortunately, I snagged another job immediately afterward - picking vegetables at a small organic farm. Unfortunately, I am currently only being paid in food. If I can hang in there for a while, there is some paying work down the road. In a couple...

Rancho Spenardo: June 2011
http://ranchospenardo.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
An Alaskan ex-pat living the not-so-simple life in rural Alabama. Thursday, June 30, 2011. It must be the end of the month. Once again, I'm slipping in under the wire, posting at the end of the month simply because I cannot bear to have an empty month in the archives. So here's some photos of a pine tree that was struck by lightning - only 100 feet or so from the house. One of the few exciting things to happen around here and I wasn't even home to witness it. You can see the house in the background.

Rancho Spenardo: No More Four-Door
http://ranchospenardo.blogspot.com/2011/11/no-more-four-door.html
An Alaskan ex-pat living the not-so-simple life in rural Alabama. Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The official cause of death as ruled by Spenardo del Sur's coroner (a.k.a. me) was pulmonary hypertension. In smaller words: freaky chicken had a bad ticker. It may or may not have had anything to do with the parasitic twin. Pulmonary hypertension is pretty common in factory farm refugees. They grow so big so fast and it can put a great strain on their developing hearts and lungs. Not that there was anything w...

An Alaskan ex-pat living the not-so-simple life in rural Alabama. Friday, October 18, 2013. I'm back in the four-legged chicken game again. Last week, I received the gift of yet another four-legged chicken. It's still just a baby, only a couple weeks old. In this video it's drowsy after a big lunch and slightly annoyed that I just won't let it sleep. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Im back in the four-legged chicken game again. I never really went away. I just wasnt here.
