L'Arche Kent from the inside: September 2011
http://larchekent.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
L'Arche Kent from the inside. Thursday, 15 September 2011. Thoughts from Jean Vanier. All that is a marvellous ideal, but then there is the reality! There is housework, cooking, shopping, laundry, rules to follow, reports to write, a short- age of assistants, appointments with doctors and other professionals… and then the occasional fit of anger and conflicts in the home. There are visitors to welcome, neighbours to meet and of course, the ringing phone. Posted by Jim C. Links to this post.

L'Arche Kent from the inside: The God of small spiders
http://larchekent.blogspot.com/2008/03/god-of-small-spiders.html
L'Arche Kent from the inside. Wednesday, 12 March 2008. The God of small spiders. Whether you like spiders or not, you have to admire their ingenuity. Wherever you walk in Autumn, you see cobwebs spanning the most improbable places – I have a spider that daily builds a cobweb over the wing mirror of my car, only for the web to be blown away every day on the way to Little Ewell. The spider’s willingness to exploit every opportunity can be good metaphor for us. 8216;How can people say there is no God?

L'Arche Kent from the inside: "These are a few of my favourite things"
http://larchekent.blogspot.com/2010/04/these-are-few-of-my-favourite-things.html
L'Arche Kent from the inside. Wednesday, 7 April 2010. These are a few of my favourite things". One morning Peter was listening to a song in his CD player. “That’s a nice song”, I said; and he answered: “Yes. It’s my favourite”. Two days later, when the radio played a Beatles’ song, Peter said: “Oh, do you hear that? It’s my favourite song”. Often, while we are tidying the DVD cupboard, he takes one of them and exclaims: “Look! 8221; (and he really. Here, in “Rainbow House” –in L’...There have, of course...

L'Arche Kent from the inside: March 2008
http://larchekent.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
L'Arche Kent from the inside. Wednesday, 12 March 2008. If a tree falls in a forest. Question: If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it…. Does it make a noise? Do the other trees point and laugh? I met a friend recently that I hadn't seen for a while. For me, she's always been this bubbly, talkative, slightly forgetful figure in my life. Yet she continually describes herself as shy, slightly awkward and a little quiet at times. Is she quiet just because she says she is? Would I be male...

L'Arche Kent from the inside: Point of view
http://larchekent.blogspot.com/2009/10/point-of-view.html
L'Arche Kent from the inside. Thursday, 1 October 2009. I remember going to Church one Sunday morning with some members of our house when I first started as an assistant. I sat next to Annie, one of our core members at church. Annie is a warm, loving lady who enjoys company though she needs quite a bit of support to stay focused on where she is and what shes doing. I thought about different ways to help her be calm and to pray if she liked during. You are doing such a good job! 5 months later, going to c...

L'Arche Kent from the inside: December 2007
http://larchekent.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
L'Arche Kent from the inside. Wednesday, 19 December 2007. A couple of weeks ago, we said goodbye to Sebastien, an assistant in the house who returned to France and welcomed a new assistant, Jeremiah from Canada, to Rainbow. Community living is always a time of goodbyes and hellos – some assistants and core members have been members of the community for twenty or thirty years – Peter has been a member for 33 years – my age today! Others come and go in less than a year. What will be lost? Christmas for me...
