Big Sky Astronomical Society. We are pleased to announce that we have recently completed our Facility Enhancement Project. This project involved putting up a security perimeter fence and constructing a small shed equipped with solar panels. We can now generate approximately 500 watts of electricity on sunny days and store this energy for use at night. This project was made possible by grants from the Royal Canadian Legion (Nanton Branch #80), the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta.

Era of Big Data. Sadly, we have created an age where corporations are hell bent on harvesting and abusing every bit of data that we put online. This site was meant for the enjoyment of family and friends (and we said so on the front page! But some weenie at the insurance underwriters’ office wanted to use the fun content here as the basis for not renewing our insurance and that’s abuse of data in my opinion.
