New Year’s Eve. July 8, 2016. July 8, 2016. Originally published on 1st January 2016 on Blogger. New Year’s Eve started with Finn and I deciding that we would make the pilgrimage of his desire to see the great Mecca, NINTENDO. Mya, had once again ditched us, this time for cycling, jumping over massive turtle shaped stones on the river and her friends. We walked back to the g...

Tweens, Teens, and Thoughts on ‘Role Models’. August 30, 2012. August 30, 2012. I nanny a twelve year old girl and her older brother. They are both bright, friendly and pretty well behaved; I love my job. 12 had a vocal recital at her school this week and I went along to witness the effect that very expensive private tuition can have on aspiring starlets. Three of the five performers (including My Girl) chose songs by Taylor Swift. Three. One sang Miley Cyrus and the last, Adele. 12 and I had also recent...

Do many Japanese speak English? – blossomkitty.com

Do many Japanese speak English? November 20, 2016. November 20, 2016. I’m not sure why this is? Cultural arrogance, maybe? Anyways, I hear many English speakers asking questions in other countries, and when their question is met with a blank stare, they ask it again, only slower and louder? Of course, this is a grandly gross generalization. Some people will want to chat, as much as they can. Travel #language #englishinjapan #can'tspeakjapanese. Eating out in Japan. One Comment Add yours. Eating out in Japan. November 7, 2016. If you go to a ramen bar, there will be many different types of ramen and maybe a few side dishes. When you go to a sushi restaurant, it is just sushi and when you go to a soba restaurant, it is usually soba and tempura. I’m not sure why these two go together, but they invariably do. There are okonomiyaki restaurants and yakitori restaurants and even Japanese curry restaurants. Tokyo #japan #japanesefood #travelwithkids. Kanji, how does it make sense? New Year’...

Japanese Etiquette 101- Surgical masks. October 6, 2016. October 6, 2016. Like many aspects of Japanese etiquette, mask wearing is deeply rooted in consideration of others.
