Saturday, July 2, 2011. Day 24 - Tempe, AZ. The two days we spent in Tempe, AZ were enjoyable. It gave us all a chance to have some free time and catch on sleep - most of us couldn't sleep past 8 anyways! We also got a chance to roam the campus and take our bikes to a local shop - which was perfect because mine needed a quick fix. After that, we spent some time with the pikapp brothers at ASU, who grilled us an awesome dinner by an extremely nice pool near campus. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Wednesday, July 13, 2011. Day 35 - Snyder, TX. I don't have much time to write tonight, but I wanted to post a little bit about my day. We rode through some decently discouraging headwinds today. I guess that's the tradeoff for being in good ol' flat Texas! When we got to Snyder we had a shorter friendship visit where we got to cool down and devour some special k bars and powerade. On top of that, I got to play my favorite board game, candyland! 3rd place out of 4 ain't bad - I'll take it.

Saturday, July 2, 2011. Day 25 - Globe, AZ. Today began 'the gauntlet', a relentless series of rides on the Journey of Hope south route through Arizona and New Mexico. It was an extremely hot, windy, and hilly ride into Globe, Arizona, but I'm proud of all of us for making it through. All the climbing was worth the great views, too, I'd say. Monday, July 11, 2011. Day 34 - Lubbock, TX. After a rest day in Lubbock today, its about time for me to update my blog again -. We spent last night and tonight in a rec center at Texas Tech University - a really nice and not to mention large campus. We got some time to go swimming, buy tubes at the bike shop, wander campus, and a few guys got their hair cut so we can keep lookin' sharp. Miles ridden so far: 1700. Personal flat tires: 11. Terrantulas seen (yes, the spiders): 5. Dogs that have chased us: 5.
