The Desegregated Cyclist: August 2014
http://ianbrettcooper.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
My sole mode of personal transportation is my bicycle. I've never driven a car and I'm quite proud of it. This blog is my place to rant and rave about cycling issues as I see them. This is not a place for critics of integrated cycling - that conversation is over - segregation has no future - studies show it is not a safe or useful strategy, nor is it a healthy philosophy. Sunday, 24 August 2014. We drove to Walt Disney World. And motorists say cyclists are the scofflaws! Links to this post. Quotes on Cyc...

Tex's Luavull Cycling: November 2014
http://texlouisvillebike.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Bikes, Futbol, Birds, Stuff. Sunday, November 16, 2014. I prepared a gravel/mixed-terrain ramble of our in the DBNF around S-Tree. I spied a clearing to the right of the road behind a gate, and we took a side trip to find an entire hillside with a haircut. Honestly, I don't really know why. It was sort of surreal to have vistas accessible when usually they remain hidden behind dense forests of trees. Dave peeking out on the trudge back up the hill. Notice the bike sign just past the bridge. I have to...

Tex's Luavull Cycling: May 2015
http://texlouisvillebike.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Bikes, Futbol, Birds, Stuff. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Today is election day, so no school. And with upper-60s, lower-70s and little humidity, it made for a *perfect* cycling day. Bartutle and I took full advantage to get a 50 miler in, with enough spirited riding to get some fitness and enough steady-state to finish feeling good. What a nice day. Hope you got out. The summer grasses and flowers are marching upward. Love me some grasses swaying in the breeze. #summeriscoming. Links to this post.

Tex's Luavull Cycling: DBNF 2015 Atop the infamous S-Tree
http://texlouisvillebike.blogspot.com/2015/06/dbnf-2015-atop-infamous-s-tree.html
Bikes, Futbol, Birds, Stuff. Tuesday, June 16, 2015. DBNF 2015 Atop the infamous S-Tree. Rockcastle River by morning. Trail marker before crossing the Rockcastle. More on that later. Rockcastle Rides. More on that later. The railroad bridge option. Note the little walkway to the right. This looks doable. And an older woman in town later told us that it was crossable as long as you hurried. Gentle slopes up Wildcat Mountain. Gazebo and exhibit at the battle memorial. Interpretive trail atop the mountain.

Tex's Luavull Cycling: July 2015
http://texlouisvillebike.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Bikes, Futbol, Birds, Stuff. Saturday, July 18, 2015. Timothy and I had hot day yesterday exploring some new and revisiting some old outside of New Washington, IN. We took some brisk turns heading out with a robust northerly wind; it makes you manly! Me like Jones (although this ride was on Sogn. Me like Sogn too). Recently flooded bridge along Muscatutuck River. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. River City Cycling Society (blog). River City Cycling Society (site).

Tex's Luavull Cycling: September 2014
http://texlouisvillebike.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Bikes, Futbol, Birds, Stuff. Monday, September 29, 2014. I can't currently walk, so that either indicates that a swell time or a miserable one was had by all. Mr. Crowell and I decided to be more ambitious than your average S24O and make for that next ring of sites that isn't readily available like our usual Jefferson Forest. One Mr. Crowell decided on Hardy Lake. Pre-game at Great Flood. Only 1, I promise. We passed by the NuLu fete on Market. Rolling sunny skies out towards Utica. Mixed-terrain. We...

Tex's Luavull Cycling: DBNF 2015 Livingston, a KY Trail Town
http://texlouisvillebike.blogspot.com/2015/06/dbnf-2015-livingston-ky-trail-town.html
Bikes, Futbol, Birds, Stuff. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. DBNF 2015 Livingston, a KY Trail Town. Our 4th day started early atop S-Tree, where we ate, packed, and were on bikes by 7.15. I knew we had a short-but-tough day in store and was excited to see what Horse Lick Creek Rd. looked like in summer instead at 30F. Now that's a new spot to put your sign, behind some boughs on a tree. For sale", dear. Hermitage. This pic below is the creek crossing that turned back Dave and me in the winter. It looks lik...
