I got a promotion! I applied for a different job within my department - a higher level, more interesting, involved, "business critical" and (most importantly) higher paid job. Was called in to a meeting today with the boss and HR person expecting and interview and was offerred the job. I get 6 months probation at a slightly higher wage and then "a salary which more accurately reflects the roles business-critical nature" (should be good! Beats day after day of entering invoices and expenses!

NABD Drink the pub dry. Went to the drink the pub dry rally in Melchborne , bedford this weekend which is in aid of NABD. Good weekend all round and had a lot of fun with friends from the barrel, havoc Mcc and some random others. One downside though (other than truly crap loos) was my ex turned up saturday night with some friends and played a seriously weak-ass practical joke on us which involved covering our tent in loo roll, pissing up it and moving our bikes so they were hidden. But moving our bikes?

It's alive, I'ts alive, mwahahahahaha * cough*. The CX500 which me and Duncan are building as a winter bike for me started last night. This was a real surprise as we got it as just a few boxes of greasy spares and a rolling chassis that looked like what happens if rust and grease mate to produce a motorcycle. I am really chuffed with this as I have helped at every stage, real helping too, the greasy, heavy, awkward type. April 19th, 2007 07:10 pm (UTC). No its all good i be asking qwests when i see u.

I lost a friend and a fellow club member yesterday. Alex, who was only 18 and training to be a chef, was killed when a taxi pulled out of an estate only a few meters in front of him as he rode along a grid road. His girlfriend who was riding pillion is in hospital in a serious condition. Goes to show that it can happen to any of us, at any time. April 19th, 2007 07:02 pm (UTC). Me and Duncan went to The Coven Goth club in Luton this saturday. We have been meaaing to go for a while but things kept cropping up and getting in the way. It was a really great night. We didnt know anyone but the main organiser, Russ, and his lady, Loopy, both came and chatted to us for quite a while when they recognised we hadn't been before which was really nice and made us feel welcome. Unusual to go to any event, even biker ones, and have the organisers come and welcome new faces personally.
