A couple of old retirees who like to bike and hike. Saturday, September 6, 2014. This is the table the jewelry box from the previous post is going to set on. OK the top doesn't really float but kind of a neat way to make a diff. table. Had a great time at the lake. Stopped at some friends on the way up and they had a pontoon also. So got in a lot of rides between the two places. I see why folks like them. Also got the trimming done in the bathroom of the house we were staying in.

A couple of old retirees who like to bike and hike. Thursday, May 15, 2014. We have been home for almost 2 weeks now. 3 days have been nice, the rest were cold, cloudy, and rainy. April and May used to be nice months in MN. Must be global unwarming. Heading up to my sister Sue's later next week. Time to cultivate the garden, mow trails and hopefully start building a bridge. Wish I had put the bridge pilings in last Fall when it was dry. Now area has water in it. Poor planning I guess.

No storms the entire trip home, just a lot of strong side wind. Semi trucks looked like whips as diff. parts of trailer was pushed in and out as they tried to stay on road. Love Paneras. So very windy here, as well. Reminds me of living in Grand Rapids one year. Continuous wind.every day. Happy you both are home safely! May 6, 2014 at 6:25 AM.

Monday, February 9, 2015. One Hundred Years Ago. Chester and Daisy Kurtz were married 100 years ago, on this date (Feb. 9th) in 1915. They were both born in 1893 and married in Iowa. Grandma and Grandpa were really wonderful. I would imagine my brothers and sister have their own fond memories of these very special people. Tuesday, April 15, 2014. A surprise snowfall last night. The robin's are all fluffed up and waiting it out. Wind chill is 18 degrees. Our minor league baseball team had their game called last evening because the snow was coming down so hard they could not see to play. Monday, March 30, 2015. Blackie, the Squirrel. Blackie the Squirrel, resident of Dan and Connie’s front yard, went home to his maker after a courageous, yet brief, battle, with a hawk last Friday. He was born in the neighborhood and is survived by way too many siblings; and numerous cousins. Blackie enjoyed digging holes in the lawn; wrecking flowers; and destroying suet feeders. Tuesday, July 15, 2014. A very pleasant morning! We were motivated to play nine holes of golf this morning, so got moving, and out on the course by 8:00 am It was a perfect day - in the low 60's, no humidity and a light wind. It has been years since I have played and it was not a pretty sight but had a great time anyway. Dan is generally patient and he gets a chance to work on his game, too. Thursday, May 28, 2015. Our little lake town has an active Parks and Recreation Board. The project this year is to have volunteers paint fish, for display throughout the town, during the summer months. They will auction the fish, in August, to raise funds for other projects. I volunteered to paint one of the fish. It is 42" long and 18" high and made of steel that was galvanized. We have seen six of the other fish, that volunteers completed; they are all different and really neat. May 28, 2015 at 2:26 PM.

Wednesday, August 12, 2015. I received this beautiful bearded iris on Mothers Day from Shelby, Mike, Callie and Sasha. It was blooming beautifully but would need to be planted eventually, after the blooms died. Iris like sun at least 8 hours a day. My existing flower beds typically get very little sun except in late afternoon. What to do? Iris usually bloom in late spring after the tulips and daffodils, but around the time Peonies bloom.
