Saturday, October 3, 2009. We were bumped from our flight out last night and spent another night in Arusha. Today it's supposed to be a go. Fun to watch all the groups of mostly men who have climbed Kilimanjaro going out. On to Brussels tomorrow and hopefully Dijon the next day. Tuesday, October 13, 2009. Marseille Tom wanted to see the Mediterranean, 1 hr. by train there-longer home due to a train strike. Trains were delayed then canceled. We did find an alternate one home. The area was just like the pictures, limestone hills, mixture of cultures, and old buildings. Amazing how large the Med. was-hills a ways from the sea made from limestone,leftover from sea animals deposited on the bottom. Were told it was for Aperitif like Pernod. Interesting. Thursday, October 8, 2009. Lyon, Fr. SE of Paris on the confluence of the Rhone and Saoane River. Roman ruins of a Colosseum tell of an old city up on the hill. In the Middle Ages it was the major silk weaving city in Europe, during WWII the French Resistance used the tunnels of the silk makers, making the city the headquarters of the Resistance, while today it is a major place of commerce and industry. Tomorrow to Avignon for a week and maybe we'll come home after that. Posted by Bikes and Bread.

Sunday, October 11, 2009. Tea at the Sunday market in Isle-Sur-Sorgue. We brought jambon, cheese, dried apricots and nuts back to our studio apartment for dinner tonight. Many people visiting, shopping and enjoying a wonderful fall day. We felt a bit of the mistral winds today.
