The outward leg was definitely the most attractive - along quiet lanes, through fields and woodland, then finally on the North Bank of the River Wharfe before arriving at the 'old' (foot) bridge in Ilkley. Personally, the return leg - on the Dales Way - was quite bland: through fields and along roads to Addingham.
