Friday, August 7, 2009. Day 56: Trains and Planes. Jacob and i needed to catch our 8:50 flight to detroit so we decided it would be best to just stay up all night so we could make it to the train on time. so we both spent the rest of the morning talking to friends and family online. then we began to clean up the large mess that we managed to created in our room at the top of the stares. Currently we are hanging out in the online cafe killing time before our flight at 7:20 pm. Thursday, August 6, 2009.

Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Day 19: Hostel in Munich. Start: Camping by the river in Reichenbach, Germany. Finish: Meinigen Hostel in Munich. I woke up at my campsite and quickly packed up and began to head toward regensburg. i thought i only had 20 miles or less, but every time i saw a sign, it kept adding more miles. i finally made it to regensburg just before it started to rain. i quickly bought a train ticket so i could get to munich with time to find a hostel before it got dark. Just before boarding we looked around for a machine to buy a bike ticket. without any luck we had to board the train before it left us and buy our bike tickets on board. this really sucked because they are €3 on the platform and €11 on the train. Thursday, July 16, 2009. We were now a little farther than we wanted to be from the Spanish steps so we decided to walk toward the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This is really an amazing structure. It was originally build as a monument for some king or emperor or someone like that, but was renamed after World War 1 when the dead soldiers were brought to that sight at the conclusion of the war.
