July 28, 2015. You may have noticed that I chose a good mountain bike over a road bike. My goal is to be able to get to places that are inaccessible to road bikes. For training, we have fantastic places like the Phillip Mac Center. Hidden Mesa Open Space. And many others. Unlike riding on the street, there is a lot more technique that goes into riding off-road. Today’s bikes don’t have any padding in the seat. Over the years, it was found that putting the padding in the seat caused more chaffing since your body is moving against the padding.
