Project 3: Figure/Ground Reversal | Courtney's Design Journal
https://bilbreydesignjournal.wordpress.com/2010/10/29/project-3-figureground-reversal
Courtney's Design Journal. Project 3: Figure/Ground Reversal. October 29, 2010, 3:38 am. Filed under: Lecture Notes. This project was by far the most difficult for me. I failed to see the purpose in the design because I became too bogged down with the technical details. I should have stopped using Adobe and used traditional materials. In the end, I ended up with a project that was technically correct, but had no good design within it. I ended up with the following design:. Leave a Comment so far.

Sometimes it is part of the art, sometimes it just sits underneath it. Structure doesn’t have to be parallel. Can be diagonal. Aspects are equal (height=width). Open compositi...

https://bilbreydesignjournal.wordpress.com/2010/10/29/project-4-hierarchy
Courtney's Design Journal. October 29, 2010, 7:39 pm. This project was the most fun for me. It was vague, but I felt like I understood the concept of hierarchy. I decided to create a festival poster, and use font size, color and location of the words to help direct the viewer’s eye in the right direction. (Yoder, Indiana is my hometown–a rural, farming community.). My first few designs, like the one below, just didn’t go anywhere. My next attempt started like this:. Leave a Comment so far. Courtney's Design Journal. October 12, 2010, 6:46 am. I used Illustrator to create the following:. Project 2: Shape Integration. October 12, 2010, 5:51 am. The “Shape Integration” project took me awhile to decipher. I struggled to break it down into smaller parts and to understand how to create it by myself. The easiest part was creating the panels and gutters, then adding in the letter and formatting it. Finally, I settled on this one:. After editing, here was the final product:.
