At the head of Sutton pool, protected on its flanks by two small streams, was the fortified Celtic camp of BILBURY. A track followed the ridge northwards to Dartmoor and was crossed by a similar track joining the crossings of the Rivers Plym and Tamar'. The Bilbury Ramblers' first walk was Sunday 27th September 1987, formed from a group of volunteers who had helped transform a derelict Dartmoor farm house into an adventure centre.
