Ottawa Area Birding

Friday, July 31, 2015. July 18-21, 2015. We arrived at the lake to find a Gray Tree Frog on our bbq cover. A tour of the lake enabled us to get close to a group of Common Terns. While picking raspberries, Barbara spotted a Chestnut-sided Warbler, an Indigo Bunting and a Cedar Waxwing. On the way home, we saw three American Kestrels on wires. Poor photos through the windshield. Since it's the first ones we had seen all year, we concluded that they were migrating. Birding around the Cottage. July 9-11, 2015.

We had a great time at the creek enjoying the wildlife and playing with Sam. We then went up the road and checked out the Bobolinks in the field. Friday, July 31, 2015. Birding around the Cottage. July 9-11, 2015. We went shopping at Maniwaki and then birding at Egan Sud. It was slow, but we got a few familiar species and a Willow Flycatcher, new for the list. The following day, we went towards Forêt de l'Aigle, and discovered a small heronry that we had never seen before.
