Monday, 28 November 2011. Wednesday 23 November – I said ‘No, no no’ (They tried to make me go to rehab …). After Elaine had managed a bit of poolside infra-red absorption, we escaped for the afternoon by renting a scooter. After our last 2-wheeled experience, where I manage to dump the missus on her backside, we were both a bit cautious but I am pleased to say my biking skills had not deserted me and we managed to return to Kamala without inflicting damage on ourselves, the scooter, or the scenery.

Friday, 30 September 2011. Ho Chi Minh and sleeper to Sapa. We had been told that Ho Chi Minhs mausoleum was a “must-do” but by a local, who I think may have had a greater interest than the average Westerner. HCM. There were also a couple of his old dwellings that could be viewed through windows – very modest and simple.
