While touring the tunnels in the Rock, we had some great vantage points for watching some landings (easyJet and Monarch). Then, as we went down to the Moorish castle, we got to see a couple of takeoffs and a British Airways landing. Pix below. At least 50% of our party (of two) enjoyed it very much! EasyJet taxiing to gate.highway closed to traffic. Highway back open (note shadow same as above).

Our tour was early again, so we got up early. But, Theresa’s Mom and Memere had given her birthday cards before we left, so she started the day by opening them. The day we unpacked Theresa put up decorations for our birthdays, and stuck them to the ceilings and walls. So, we have some cards by the window, and a few streamers about the room.

We had a week planned for vacation, and were going to go to North Dakota, for State #50! But, last week Theresa found a 7 day cruise in and out of Rome for $199 per person. Thursday morning half of the group got up early to depart by bus by 6:30 or 6:45 for Northern Italy, and the extension of the tour. Sounds like this was the “party time” as they were all talking about the wine and relaxation they were looking forward to in the next week. We were a little jealous!
