Bill Crider's Pop Culture Magazine: A Dog Among Diplomats -- J. F. Englert

https://billcrider.blogspot.com/2008/06/dog-among-diplomats-j-f-englert.html

Monday, June 30, 2008. A Dog Among Diplomats - J. F. Englert. This is the kind of book you're either going to like or not. I mean, it's narrated by a dog who reads Proust and surfs the 'Net, so there you go. I liked it, which I'm sure destroys whatever street cred I had left, but let me tell you some of its good qualities. It's well written, it's funny, and it has a good fair-play mystery plot. These are all things I like. He follow-up to last year's A Dog About Town. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Bill Crider's Poems

Friday, June 24, 2011. I thought about John Keats today. And about St. Agnes’ Eve,. How bitter chill it was. Down here in the swampland. There is no chill,. And as I ran this morn. Sweat pumped from every pore. I thought about the owl,. A’cold, for all his feathers. If I had feathers. I’d choose to have them on my feet. I’d fly along th’ heat-shimmered street. On a mission from the gods,. Dropping off a billet doux. From Aphrodite to her husband,. Lame Hephaestus, at work below. At th’ eternal forge.
