Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. I think of all this, because spending a day in Bruges felt like being in "The Belgian Experience" in Epcot (unfortunately Belgium is not one of the 11 countries that actually has a venue in Epcot, so this theory will have to go unproven). Still, here's a fun little game I like to call: which of these is Bruges and which is the France exhibit in Epcot:. The top picture is from Epcot, and the bottom is at Jan Van Eyckplein. You should be a travel writer! That made my day.

Funding someone's PhD with my M.A. Doing Big Boy Things. After so much success in coming close to my goal of 6 posts/month, May has been a complete failure. My post on Ghent is a work in progress. I have 2 or 3 other ideas that I haven't even started on. I am, in fact, still alive, but I've been working on school stuff, job applications, and my pending dissertation. March 31, 2010. A handful of dried cranberries in my salad. We put most of these back on the beach after collecting, sorting, and taking pictures of them. My mom developed a new game: scatter our unwanted shells on the beach (near our beach chairs), then sit back and watch who nibbles on them. A lazy, yet satisfying game. The whole process of collecting, sorting and photographing is so wonderfully therapeutic. And it doesn't hurt that we did all of those things while basking in the Florida sunlight.
