Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: I Should Probably Explain Myself
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2013/03/i-should-probably-explain-myself.html
Tuesday, March 19, 2013. I Should Probably Explain Myself. I see, in my last post, that I said I "probably have enough material to [post every day in November]" and that I would post such material in the "very near future.". So, I may not be in the mood to write for a little while longer. Though, I did write all this just now, during the usual early-afternoon window of being able to sit at my computer rather than stand, so who knows. The ever-continuing graying of my hair. Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: Cheese Is Good
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/cheese-is-good.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2011. I was just lamenting my writer's block on Facebook. I wasn't expecting to get suggestions, but I got one anyway. So I'm here now to write about cheese. Just got another suggestion on Facebook. College football projections. Haven't followed college football since the 1970 season, so I got nothing there. Is Kentucky good? They're good at basketball! In fact, they were overwhelming voted number 1 in the most recent coaches' poll. Dare to dream of another championship! M = My wife.

Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: 1996 Was An Eventful Year For Sports Spectating
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/1996-was-eventful-year-for-sports.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. 1996 Was An Eventful Year For Sports Spectating. Back in '96, in addition to the trip to Atlanta to see the Olympic Trials, we also went to Indianapolis earlier that year to see the NCAA Indoor Track Championships. We'll take them," and we gave the kid a $20 and got our tickets before the poor kid could let it sink in that he had been railroaded. I guess it would have been poor form to refuse the deep discount that our new friend had gotten for us, but I did feel bad for...

Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: Not Firing On All Cartridges
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/not-firing-on-all-cartridges.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. Not Firing On All Cartridges. My printer ran out of ink the other day. Just the cyan (blue) cartridge, though. The other colors are, for the moment, eagerly awaiting my next printing adventure. But one cartridge is out, and so, like a faulty Christmas light bulb, the weak link is bringing it down for the whole group. But I'm in luck! Staples is offering a nice 15% discount off my total order, just in time for me to get new print cartridges for a lower price! M = My wife.

Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: Capturing My Essence
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/capturing-my-essence.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. The first thought that came to mind, besides being honored that I merited being the subject of PG's family drawing, was what's going on under my mouth. Was I sticking out my tongue? Had I gotten spaghetti sauce on my chin? Before I could even ask PG, she explained that she couldn't remember what my beard looked like, so she guessed. So, that's my beard, to the best of PG's memory. She got my hairline right, anyway. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). M = My wife. Larry, Darr...

Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: To Finish Is To Win
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/to-finish-is-to-win.html
Tuesday, November 29, 2011. To Finish Is To Win. I was going through my dad's old briefcase when I found a newspaper clipping, from the September 3, 1977 edition of what I assume was the Lexington (KY) Herald-Leader, in an envelope. It was something I had seen before, in a photo album, but it had been a while, and I had forgotten about it. The headline was "Winners All" and the text read thusly. I suppose I should nitpick my own post and note that back in 1977, there was a Lexington Herald (in the mornin...

Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: Yodel-lay-de-Haiku!!
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/yodle-lay-de-haiku.html
Thursday, November 24, 2011. Lots of turkey and stuffing. If you're into that. Went to see Muppets. Not too bad, really. Got kinda slow at one point. Ah, my chai/green tea. Is there nothing you can't do? Getting hot in here. Gonna take off my sweater. I blame the chai tea. So, that's pretty much my day so far. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). M = My wife. Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: Waving At Opportunity As It Passes Me By
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/waving-at-opportunity-as-it-passes-me.html
Sunday, November 27, 2011. Waving At Opportunity As It Passes Me By. Well, I've covered how I'm slackin' on my health. Now it's time to talk about how I'm slackin' in my professional life. Since I am now owner of a business, it would naturally follow that I would proceed to get myself some more clients or at least do something. Would you use a baby announcement like this? I did (names changed to protect our identities. from people who already know our names.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Random S...

Trackrick's Self-Indulgent Ramblings: She Outta My Lee-eague!!!
http://trackrick.blogspot.com/2011/11/she-outta-my-lee-eague.html
Saturday, November 26, 2011. She Outta My Lee-eague! I was in a bar last night when a song started playing that I couldn't quite make out. It was clearly something popular with the kids, because a bunch of dudes were singing along (one might even say belting out along.) I was finally able to figure out the song. "She's Like The Wind" by Patrick Swayze, from Dirty Dancing. A song that was last popular around the time these dudes were in diapers or even not-yet-existent. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
