Podornaajo: July 2006
http://billyinsenegal.blogspot.com/2006_07_01_archive.html
Misadventures of a sometimes Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. Saturday, July 08, 2006. But more than that, this is the perfect place to begin my health indoctrination and nutrition intervention schemes. The three-to-five year old window of childhood development is one subject to particular nutritional vulnerability, and current thinking suggests nutritional neglect during this widow can negatively impact the child's maximum acheivable mental and physical potential, permanently.
Podornaajo: Year Mark
http://billyinsenegal.blogspot.com/2006/04/year-mark.html
Misadventures of a sometimes Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. Sunday, April 02, 2006. Just hit the year mark. I feel it in almost everything I do now: my commanding tone with young people; my ability to haggle over a price difference of twenty cents for thirty minutes or as long as it takes; I have even begun to crave rice and fish when ever I go more than a day or two with out it. It's nice, after so much difficulty, difficulty, difficulty! Good for you BJ! Des baisers de Paris .

Finding Casamance: ICE
http://nate-in-a-nutshell.blogspot.com/2008/04/ice.html
Monday, April 28, 2008. Saturday April 26th 2009. I have probably mentioned before but the morning is my favorite time of the day. It is not hot. Generally there is a cool breeze that has a touch of coolness to it. During the mid day from roughly 1PM to 4PM it is so hot. So hot that it totally saps any energy or desire for me to do anything. Sometimes I'll lay under the shade and sometimes I try to douse the heat with a combination of lots of water and Senegalese tea. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Finding Casamance: Good Days
http://nate-in-a-nutshell.blogspot.com/2009/07/good-days.html
Saturday, July 11, 2009. As for my mental health, as always there are the good days and the bad. Days Life has definitely gotten easier since my language level has. Become more functional. Also partly much of life here has become. Ordinary. There are part of it that you love and some of it that you. For instance, I often feel more comfortable around local Senegalese. Than other volunteers. I dont know what it is or why I feel that way. Part of it might be that for the most part, locals are much less.

Finding Casamance: Busy Busy
http://nate-in-a-nutshell.blogspot.com/2008/08/busy-busy.html
Wednesday, August 13, 2008. It has been raining cats and dogs almost every evening and night. During the day I have been running around super busy. Extending corn and beans in the other villages hasn't been much of problem. For the most part, I think this is the first time that peace corps seed extension program has worked in them. Really more to the point, the first time nonrice seed has been extended there for at least some time. At the moment I have extended seed to 5 different villages- usually just ...

Sunday, April 20, 2008. Hungry Peace Corps Volunteer in Africa. Tuesday, April 15th 2008. Did your mom ever tell you to eat all the food on your plate because there were hungry children in Africa that would love to eat what you are having. Luckily my mom never seriously said that- it was too cliché by the time she would have said. Maybe today they should say eat all your green beans because there are hungry Peace Corps volunteers in Africa. That is the truth! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wolof 43&...

Finding Casamance: My Advice to Incoming Trainees
http://nate-in-a-nutshell.blogspot.com/2008/08/my-advice-to-incoming-trainees.html
Wednesday, August 13, 2008. My Advice to Incoming Trainees. To those of you reading my blog to get an idea of what Peace Corps service is like should be warned. Everyone has a completely different experience. Lots of my views and opinions should really be taken with a grain of salt. Finding Casamance: A Constant Hassle
http://nate-in-a-nutshell.blogspot.com/2008/08/constant-hassle.html
Wednesday, August 13, 2008. One of the constant hassles I encounter here is the idea that white people/ nonafricans can do nothing. They think you are physical incapable of anything until you do it. At first I couldn't pull my own water out of the well… until I did. I can't cook, rake, tie a knot or anything until I show them I can. Dude, you're a fucking wimp. and you do talk like a privileged white boy. you didn't know what you were getting yourself into? Is that what berkeley taught you to expect?

TVparty!
Classic TV and Pop Culture blog from your pal Billy Ingram. Monday, August 3, 2015. What the Hell is the 'Gay Lifestyle'? When someone says they don't approve of the 'gay lifestyle' I have to confess I have no idea what that means. Is there some notion out there that gays are some monolithic group that marches in lockstep? I'm pretty disdainful of them as well but to each his own. Is it the pervs trolling park bathrooms for sex? I don't go for it myself but who gives a fuck what people do in bed, you don...
