Bindweed Farm: March 2013

http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 31, 2013. Buona Pasqua- Happy Easter. Saturday, March 30, 2013. Fresh Cuts: April 1. What a difference a week can make. I took this shot last Friday- awestruck as the sun burst through the clouds and streaked the horizon. The golf cart so forlorn, prayer flags frosty and the water in the flower buckets frozen- beautiful and harsh. Within a few hours of sunrise a new batch of Icelandic Poppies open to greet the day. The Bells of Ireland, planted in early February are gaining ground too.

Bindweed Farm: June 2013

http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 27, 2013. Fresh cuts: July 1-7. Yeah- the rainbow kinda says it all. East Fields- Can you believe these are the same tiny plants pictured a month ago! West Fields- the sunflowers are budding and will be on the truck soon. Hang in there! Windshield shot: Canola field on the way to Jackson early morning. Simply amazing. A full truckload- there are so many varieties blooming right now our trucks are spilling over. Clematis long vine "Paul Farges". We have delphinium in assorted colors. Labels...

Bindweed Farm: February 2014

http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Wednesday, February 26, 2014. With bright clear skies and more daylight each day, inside the greenhouses it is spring. The tulip beds are very active and getting fuller and greener by the minute. No heads forming yet, but it will not be long. As soon as we begin to heat the greenhouses for the tulips we fill the beds. First in were the sweet peas. RT planting stock seedlings. Ian, our new help, got up close and personal with work at Bindweed planting several hundred seedlings. Welcome aboard Ian!

Bindweed Farm: May 2013

http://bindweedfarm.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 31, 2013. Lilacs are Simply Luscious. Southeast Idaho is littered with lilacs. They pop out each spring, right around my Grandmother's birthday. They bloom with abandon along the roadsides, in overgrown vacant lots, next to tumbled down barns and abandoned creaky farm houses. A fresh armload- sink load- of deep purple lilac. Thanks Gram, for all the good stuff. Thursday, May 30, 2013. Fresh Cuts: June 3. It is the last day of May and we are in over our heads- literally! Hawthorne tree in bloom.

Long ago trip – Prairieland Flowers

https://prairielandflowers.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/long-ago-trip

Bringing the prairie to you, one bouquet at a time. July 3, 2012. Its been a while, yes I know. But, I just thought I would share about my trip a couple weeks ago to see Lucas…. and all the pretty flowers. It has been a weird spring and turning into a scorcher for a summer. All of the penstemon has long since gone and all that was blooming was cactus and prickly poppy. I did find some interesting sedge that could be used for cuts but never got a picture. Bridal Inspiration:: Rustic Modern – Prairieland Flowers

https://prairielandflowers.wordpress.com/2012/07/12/bridal-inspiration-rustic-modern

Bringing the prairie to you, one bouquet at a time. July 12, 2012. Bridal Inspiration: Rustic Modern. It seems that the biggest theme component for the 2012 wedding season is RUSTIC. Just throw in some of your mom’s old mason jars, burlap, and wildflowers and you’re set for a good ol’ shindig. I love the idea of spray painting antlers, white preferably, to add a modern flare. Or using some callas, roses, lisianthus or ranunculus to spice up the flowers. This entry was posted in Bridal Inspiration. Blog a...

Bindweed and Blind Optimism | The trials of a novice gardener getting to grips with an overgrown plot.

Bindweed and Blind Optimism. The trials of a novice gardener getting to grips with an overgrown plot. Latest from the flower garden. The front garden is a bit disappointing at the moment. Some of the anemones have flowered, and one iris, but nothing else. The sweet peas have had a few flowers on them, but they aren’t really growing properly and aren’t really delivering. Something else has come up, which looks like it might be the peacock orchids, but no sign of any flowers. We’ve also had a handful of st...
