Older but not wiser: April 2010

Older but not wiser. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Jimmy Choo liked my shoes. My short-lived career as an accidental fashionista is complete. I'm still not sure how I ended up in the Choo emporium (chooporium? In the first place. Suffice it to say that after six hours of solid shopping I was delirious. Not to mention skint. Nothing was safe from my credit card today. I even managed to spend £40 on a pair of. They didn't, which was probably for the best. But, just as I was leaving, the shop manager came ...

Older but not wiser. Monday, July 12, 2010. For some reason this blog is getting over run with Chinese spambots. It's annoying. So I've decided to set up an alternative home. I'll still post (more personal) stuff here from time to time but will probably be more prolific (and professional) over on the other side. Catch me at http:/ www.dorsetdispatches.wordpress.com. Saturday, July 3, 2010. 1 Talking to strangers. In London this sort of behaviour would get you stabbed/arrested/sectioned. The bread and but...

Older but not wiser. Saturday, February 28, 2009. This weekend is to be almost entirely given over to wedmin - the boring bits of organizing a wedding that have to be achieved regardless. Today begins with a meeting with the flower arranger (which I think has potential to be fun, at least for me). Sunday, February 22, 2009. Yesterday I bought a dress that cost more than my entire wardrobe. I finally chose my wedding dress. They really are incredible contraptions. I was corsetted to within an ...We laughe...

Older but not wiser: Bridal bitchery
http://zuzulagrowsup.blogspot.com/2010/05/bridal-bitchery.html
Older but not wiser. Sunday, May 2, 2010. If I'd known then what I know now I would not have had any married guests at my wedding. Because once you've done it yourself, you can't help but float through the day mentally making comparisons, and whichever way it goes you end up hating yourself. Either because you wish you'd done your own wedding their way, or because you're feeling sickeningly superior that you had a prettier cake. This comment has been removed by a blog administrator. Older but not wiser. Wednesday, October 7, 2009. A friend is threatening to leave Facebook. He says that at best it's 'inane' and at it's worst it's full of people gloating about how much better their lives are than everybody else's. If you want to stay in touch, he declares, you can email me. Only it doesn't particularly sound like he wants to stay in touch with us. Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Our house is a gamers paradise. Unfortunately for me, I've never been into games. Thanks to a new job, I now have...

Tuesday, July 19, 2005. Let me steal a post right quick. I am in a public library in Small-town-north-of-Dallas because Big C. Has no Internet in his apartment. I suspect the man to my left of reading my screen so "attention, man on my left! You smell weird and quite frankly I don't care much for your library etiquette! Teaches him to not fuck with me. Anyway. I'm adjusting to my new home and to be honest,. It's not that bad. Oh, yeah.I almost forgot:. I GOT A JOB! I'm exhausted. But excited. So far, I'v...

Thursday, April 07, 2005. It's in the water.I swear. There are certain things one can do to change one's perspective. Some people move, change jobs, leave their lovers, take acid, study Buddhism, etc. I quit my job and went to Italy. [listen for the deconstructionist's maniacal laughing]. With perspective good and changed, I have returned to my home with an insane affinity for sparkling water, Italian shoes and gelatto.and have no job. But I'm still laughing maniacally. Dallas, Texas, United States.

Saturday, September 24, 2005. Planty has a sister. I like Ally now. She was happy to see me come home tonight, which in turn made me happy to see her. She is not a house pest anymore, although she does stink a little bit. But I can just breathe out of my mouth, that's no problem. As long as her tail wags when she sees me, I don't care how bad she smells. Posted by deconstructionist at 9:10 PM. Can you spot Planty, my REAL pet? S brother's dog and she's staying with us while he weathers the storm elsewhere.

Tuesday, August 23, 2005. Raw, strong and ghetto.with a little bit of crazy. I have been in a mood lately. I find it fun to drive home from work and pretend I'm crazy - shooing people who get in my way, wagging my finger as if to say "nooooooo" to a child if they do something wrong, or screaming, "mooooooove! At the top of my lungs to the bitch in front of me, chatting away on the cell phone. No one fucks with you if they think you're crazy. It's the Big D, after all. I knew this guy in college who calle...
