Temperate Broadleaf Forest Biome

Included here are temperate forests associated with either a distinct cool season or a distinct dry season. During these unfavourable seasons many of the trees shed their leaves. Llwyn Coed oak woodland in the Snowdonia National Park (Wales).

Included here are the forests of seasonal tropical zones where there is a distinct dry season. Many of the trees lose their leaves during the dry period. They can be found throughout major parts of the world including India, South East Asia, West Africa, the West Indies, South and Central America and Northern Australia. Sri Lankan semi-deciduous, dry monsoon forest near Sigiriya.
