Dylan, God, and Architecture. India: Where and How Long? June 19, 2011. A graphic on where I went in India, what means of transportation I used, and how long I was in each place (area of circle based on number of days spent). June 7, 2011. I write you now from both the inside of a near-comically bouncy bus traveling at terrifying speeds through the foothills of the Himalayas and from within the safe and cozy confines of room I grew up in and the country I call home. Dylan, God, and Architecture. December 28, 2010. Hello from the future! And then India. Oh man, oh man. This country is slowly breaking my body but stealing my heart. I’ll update soon with pictures. December 6, 2010. As some of you may know, in a few days I will be departing for the Indian subcontinent. I don’t quite have a plan, a destination, or a set of goals yet, but I do have a six-month visa, a backpack, and a fair amount of excitement. So what does that mean for you, as an avid Rumblings reader?

Dylan, God, and Architecture. March 30, 2011. Bihar is the epicenter of this Age of Kali. 8220;both states [Bihar and Jarkhand] remain seriously troubled by poverty, a lack of infrastructure, inter-caste violence, corruption, and general lawlessness… Buddhist pilgrims and tourists have on occasion been robbed, and few travelers spend much time here”. I ended up staying a few nights there in a monastery, and truly enjoyed the spiritual peace and quiet. The Age of Kali: Part 1. March 29, 2011. I have never...

Dylan, God, and Architecture. May 31, 2011. Bombay now joins a very small list of places that I can truly call home. It was the heart of my travels through India, both logistically and emotionally. It was the context for some of the greatest nights, most intense experiences, and late-night conversations throughout my trip. And it is the place I miss the most. And see you soon. May 18, 2011. May 16, 2011. But man oh man, the successes! May 6, 2011. May 4, 2011. Usually first on traveler’s agendas, D...

Dylan, God, and Architecture. January 9, 2011. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I wanted to make a quick update and post some photos before I start travelling, because who knows how often I will be able to post in the next few weeks. On the 13th, I head out for a nice long adventure down south to Goa, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu, so expect some excitement. My only plans so far are a wedding in Goa, where a congratulations goes out to Smirti! Create a free website or blog at WordPress.com.

Dylan, God, and Architecture. April 16, 2011. And it is on a well-traveled tourist circuit, so it is a little less rough around the edges than much of the rest of India. Actually, I have to admit that all of Rajasthan’s beautiful hotels and stunning cities started to erode my rugged traveler, six-months-on-the-road, sleep-anywhere street cred I was building up. But it was worth it. The streets are insane. Unsafe really. So much dancing, fireworks, yelling, jumping, laughing. Amazing. Jaisalmer is stunnin...

Dylan, God, and Architecture. February 16, 2011. But that is exactly what you love about it. You love the juxtaposition, the gray crumbling concrete buildings built into wall of the brightly colored temple, or the ox and wagon waiting next to the Mercedes at the stoplight. It is these moments, when fact meets fiction, that are the most beautiful. Then further down to Kerala’s capitol, Trivandrum, which is really just a typical Indian city, filled with burning trash, chaotic streets, and lots of adv...
